About Us
What We Believe

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only true, begotten Son of God.
That He is fully God, (being the second Person of the Trinity) and that
He is fully man (having incarnated through the virgin birth).  This
makes Him the God-Man – 100% God and 100% Man.

Why did Jesus have to become a man? So He could do what He did
– go to a cruel cross and die in our place.  Sin has separated
between God and man, that sin is a debt we owe to God, it must be
paid – but God’s price for that sin is a perfect sacrifice, one that we
could never pay. So Jesus came! He paid the debt that we owed.

But Jesus did more than just pay our debt – He arose from the dead!
By dying in our place, he paid for our sin; by rising from the grave He
now offers to us the free gift of eternal life.  His life - that same life
that raised Christ from the dead is now available to us in the Person
of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Now, by accepting His free gift of eternal life, we are free!  Free from
our sin-debt, free from our guilt and shame, and free to experience
all the joy and peace that His Spirit brings.  But each person must
accept this gift, it’s offered – not forced.  Choose today to accept this
great gift and KNOW you are forever forgiven, forever at peace with
God and forever will dwell with Him.

What We Teach

The Westerville Alliance Church teaches God’s truths as revealed in
His Word, the Holy Bible.  We do not accept other texts as Holy
Scripture – only the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.

We endeavor to teach all the core truths of God’s Word, but it is
particularly important for the believer to understand certain
foundational truths:

•        Salvation through Jesus Christ and His work on the cross
•        The Faith – the Person and Work of Christ
•        Christ as life to the believer
•        The Trinity
•        The Church – God’s home and yours
•        How to grow in spirit
•        The priesthood of the believer

Please see the links above for more detail on these key truths

We believe that there are primary truths:
Things about the Person and Work of Christ
The veracity of God’s Word
The nature of God and man
The nature of sin and how to be free from its power and penalty

These truths must be understood and accepted for one to be in right
fellowship with The Lord and His Church

It is also our opinion that there are lesser issues.  While important,
and often discussed, we do not hold that believers should divide over
such things.  We feel this gives our ministry a balanced approach to
God’s word – major in the majors and minor in the minors.  We invite
you to attend our Sunday School or one of our home meetings to get
a better feel for our teaching style and emphasis.

What is The Christian and Missionary Alliance?
We are part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. This is an
Alliance of evangelical believers, joined together in local churches
and dedicated to fulfilling the Great Commission given by Jesus
Christ. That Commission clearly instructs us:

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew
28:19,20,NIV).

To fulfill this commission, the C&MA has 745 missionaries serving in
52 countries.  The goal of C&MA missionaries is to establish local,
self sustaining churches.  There are C&MA churches in 81
countries.

A Brief History
The Christian and Missionary Alliance began as a deeper life and
missionary movement initiated by Dr. Albert B. Simpson in 1887 to
mobilize the under-utilized lay forces and resources of the churches
to "take the whole Bible to the whole world." He believed that a life
completely yielded to Christ was one in which service to Christ would
be of paramount importance. A person controlled by the Holy Spirit
has no choice but to be involved in bringing the Good News to
others, either as an overseas missionary or as a missionary at
home.

The founder was reluctant to establish churches, preferring to call
together Christians with a vision to evangelize the world but who
remained in their local churches. However, the Christ-centered
emphasis in teaching and the priority on missions made many
people unwelcome in their denominations, causing them to form
groups that for years were called "branches," not churches. By the
mid-1970s, it became clear that The Alliance was a denomination in
all but name, so with revised bylaws and constitution that reality was
formalized in 1974.

Our history is rich in ministry. The cornerstone of our National Office
building in Colorado Springs is a visual reminder of our roots. It was
first laid at the Gospel Tabernacle in New York City in 1889
